Our vision
At Pen Mill Infant and Nursery Academy, we want to enable all children and young people to learn, sing, play an instrument and create music together, and have the opportunity to progress their music interests and talents, including professionally.
Therefore, we want to model and educate our pupils on how to be confident and passionate musicians. We want our pupils to be creators and our broad curriculum encompassing the interrelated dimensions of music: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations, provides many creative opportunities.
Our children have many opportunities to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians
All learners learn to sing and to use their voices, to create and compose music on their own and with others, play tuned and untuned percussion instruments, use technology appropriately and have the opportunity to progress to the next level of musical excellence when they move on to junior school.
